And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”
Exodus 33:19-20
There are days when we feel like everything is broken and weâre sort of stumbling along. Between busy work and demanding children and faithless friends, theyâre the days that can make us want to cry out, âLord, have mercy!â But not always in the way we say it in church... Rather, sometimes it comes out more like a demand, hands thrown up in despair.
Prayer:
Lord of mercy, keep us today in your love through your Word. Remind us that you go with us each day and, therefore, we are not lost. Look on us with favor and grace for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
