Are you like me where you sometimes overlook the work done by the Holy Spirit? The sheer fact that the Holy Spirit has called us by the gospel and created faith in our hearts should bring us to our knees, but often we can take this life-giving work for granted.
Pastor Brett Brauer, in a two-part series on free will, reminds us of where we were before the Holy Spirit brought us to faith. We were dead in our sins and unable to please God. Only after the Holy Spirit works faith in our hearts are we able to do good works--and only with his help. Linda Buxa reminds us that just as the Holy Spirit was with the first-century believers as they lived their faith so he is also with us as we share what we know about our Savior.
