About ME (Ministerial Education)

WELS ministerial education is a system of four schools (two high-school-level preparatory schools, a college and a seminary) with a single purpose.

Luther Preparatory School  trains and encourages young people for a lifetime of service in the public ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary has as its purpose the training of students for the public ministry of the gospel and enrolling them upon graduation at Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota.

Martin Luther College, the WELS College of Ministry, exists to prepare the next generation of Gospel heralds through studies in pastoral ministry and educational ministry, including training for early childhood education, elementary school, high school, and staff ministry. MLC also offers continuing education programs for called workers already serving.

Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary offers theological training that prepares men to enter the pastoral ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of churches within its confessional fellowship. The seminary also offers opportunity for theological and professional growth to called workers already serving in the ministry.
