Prayer is personal and powerful Bible study
Introduction
Where questions are asked in this study, suggested answers are provided. Before you look at suggested answers, though, be sure to give thoughtful consideration to the questions on your own, or discuss them with others in your family or group Bible study.
Prayer is a work of faith
Prayer flows naturally from faith. Prayer is our daily conversation with God, on whom we rely as our Savior and as the Lord to provide for us and guide us. It has always been a temptation, though, for God’s people to put their trust elsewhere than in the LORD God and, in the process, to neglect a proper life of prayer.
Read 2 Kings 17:35-41. What was a particular problem for the Israelite people after they had been blessed as God’s people of the promise? Can you think of any comparisons or applications to our modern situation as Christian people?
