August 2012
August 2012
A new Bible study series starting this month highlights an important aspect of our Christian life: following Jesus. In this series, Pastor David Sternhagen will look at New Testament figures who followed, and sometimes failed to follow, their Savior and what that meant to their lives. His first article highlights how the first apostles, and how we too, were called to follow.
Following Jesus isn't easy. In fact, it seems the older we become, the more we let earthly things get in the way. In his devotion, Pastor Steve Pagels reminds us that we all need to have the faith of a child, a faith that will follow Jesus unquestioningly.
Graduates from Martin Luther College did follow unquestioningly when they received their first assignments into the ministry this May. See how one graduate explains the process and the reassurance she felt knowing that it was all in God's hands. Check out all the graduates and their assignments and pray that they will continue to follow their Savior throughout their lives as well as lead others to that saving Word.

Bible translation revision
Have you heard that the publishers of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible have updated the translation? A Translation Evaluation Committee has been established to study and examine this new translation, along with other English language translations. The committee has compiled essays, information, and studies on the topic.
