More than 500 people attended a “neighborhood picnic,” hosted by Zion, Springfield, Mo., on Sept. 22. The day included food, music, crafts and face painting for kids, square dancing, and even live llamas. Kim Parten, a member at Zion, says the outreach event was a huge success for their 92-member congregation. “We were blessed by the Lord beyond our wildest dreams!” she says. “The weather was perfect, the event was well-organized and ran flawlessly . . . The event brought our membership closer together and has energized many about evangelism. We have close to 50 names to follow up on, and we have had visitors attend because of the event. It truly was a thrilling day!”
