Two Sudanese—Zakaria Gangra and his daughter, Ikhlas—were confirmed April 20 at Christ, Grand Island, Neb. The family came to the United States four years ago and has been attending Christ for almost a year. “During the classes, Zakaria would tell stories about things that happened in Africa that really showed me he knew what I was trying to teach,” says Pastor David Wietzke. “My take on it is the Lord wanted him to be here and brought him here. It’s a powerful lesson of how the gospel unites us when not much else would.”
