Helping kids stay connected to Jesus
Kids Connection is beginning its 18th season as WELS' video news magazine for kids. Viewed monthly by tens of thousands of children in Lutheran elementary schools and Sunday schools, Kids Connection has an exciting season lined up for the 2012–13 school year.
“Kids Connection exists to illustrate through example and examination of Christian lives, the purpose, excitement, and joy of a living faith in Jesus Christ,” explains the video’s producer, Ms. Kris Snyder. “It is my prayer that Kids Connection and the gospel it shares will encourage kids to stay connected to each other, to others in WELS, and, most important, to Jesus.”
In fact, each episode of Kids Connection closes with the encouragement to “Stay connected to Jesus.”
As Ms. Bert Hagen, a teacher at St. Paul, Tomah, Wis., says, “That phrase from the video—‘Stay connected to Jesus’—can be heard by our students during their regular school day. Not only do they say the phrase, they know what it means because Kids Connection teaches the concept to them every month. When the kids see other schools and groups doing things for Jesus it inspires them. They want to do things like they see on Kids Connection.”
Mr. Alan Uher, a teacher at Mount Calvary, Waukesha, Wis., agrees. Uher says, “Watching Kids Connection helps our students identify and appreciate the blessings God has given them and then enlivens them to implement those blessings for the benefit of those around them.”
WELS Kids Connection, hosted by two WELS teens, features Christ-centered service opportunities, interviews with Christian lay leaders, world missions, synodical schools, and more. A subscription includes nine episodes, one for each month of the school and/or Sunday school year. The annual subscription is $90 and includes shipping and handling. Subscribe online on Connect.
