International Youth Rally postponed to 2012
The Commission on Youth Discipleship has announced that it is postponing the next International Youth Rally. Rather than holding the rally in the summer of 2011 as planned, the next rally will be held in the summer of 2012. The commission is urging youth groups to work on service projects during the summer of 2011.
Rev. Tom Schneider, chairman of the Commission on Youth Discipleship for the past seven years, explains that the main reason for the postponement is the ongoing vacancy in the office of Youth Discipleship administrator.
The International Youth Rally is traditionally held every other year. The last rally was held in July 2009 in Ames, Iowa. More than 1,000 WELS teens attended. Some districts are holding local rallies this summer. For more information, visit www.livingbold.net and search for "2010 district rallies."
