Loads of sites giving you HTML tips and tricks. Keep up-to-date on the latest HTML news on the W3 and W3J Consortium links. Find templates, hex tables, and even examples of bad web design on this link list.

HTML Entities

Entities are characters that need special treatment by the browser, remember? There are many sites dedicated just to entity symbols. If you find a better link, let us know!

HTML Validators

A validator allows you to type in the address of your web page to verify if you have coded the page correctly. Here are a number of sites with varying levels of HTML code checking.

HTML Editors & WYSIWYG Tools

You could simply use Notepad or another generic character based word processor to write HTML code. But an HTML editor provides you with a quicker method to code with more accuracy. With a click of a button you can bold, link, or HTML code any text. No, it won't tell you which code to use. You still have to know HTML, but it will drastically reduce the amount of typing!

A WYSIWYG editor provides preview and "drag and drop" capabilies without having to learn much HTML. This may be appealing at first, but when a code is misbehaving...guess what? You still have to dig into the code. WYSIWYG editors have their place in the web design world, just find one that's easy to use and make sure it doesn't need to recompile your entire site for a minor change.

HTML Converters

A converter allows one to quickly turn documents into "plain" HTML documents. Nothing fancy here. If you need to get white papers online, this is the quickest way to do it. It's an in and out operation. The program reads your text and outputs an HTML document.
