Prayer

Is something troubling you? Take it to the Lord in prayer. If you need some inspiration, view the prayers in the topical index on the left to help you get started.
Featured Prayer: Prison Ministry
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me' "(Matthew 25: 34-36).
Lord, sometimes it is easy to point fingers at people that are incarcerated and say, "Am I glad I am not like them!" But deep down I know the wrongs I have committed. And if you treated me as my sins deserve, I would be destined for eternal punishment—much worse than any prison here on earth. Thank you for living a perfect life in my place and dying a death I deserve. As if that isn't enough you are preparing a place for me in eternal paradise. Your unbelievable mercy, forgiveness, and grace moves me to share your Word with others—even those who are incarcerated. Not that you need my help, but thank you for allowing me and everyone else in the synod to be a part of prison ministry—to visit by letter, Bible, and Bible correspondence course—all to your glory. Amen.
