How did your wife's Lutheran faith impact you?
Initially, I was thinking that I was going to convert her. That yeah, I was the one with the masters in religious studies, I was the one who knew it all. I was who had the right idea of who God was. Looking back I realize how silly, how arrogant, how prideful I really was in that. How confident I was in my education, in my own ability to convince people, whatever. God began to work - the patience he gave her was just unbelievable because I was a struggle.
